In a nutshell – what is in the name
The Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent is part of a series of camping tents, with various sleeping capacities depending on your needs: 4-person, 6-person, 8-person, 9-person, 10-person and 12-person occupancy.
As the name says, our review unit is the 9-person model, which can accommodate up to 9 people comfortably, but you can do more if you decide to do with sleeping bags.
Like the other models from Core, the tent is cleverly design; in fact, it looks like an umbrella with attached walls and a floor. Setup is pretty straight forward – spread it and it is instantly ready.
A freestanding tent: With this, it means the Core 9 can pitch on any terrain, since the structure itself is self-supporting, hence staking it to the ground is not compulsory, but is highly advisable to do.
Instant setup: With a pre-assembled frame, setting up the Core 9 cabin tent is straightforward, and will take anything close to 2-3 minutes to be ready. In fact, the manufacturer claims that the tent can be up within 60 seconds, would be true, but anything below 5 minutes is fine. The short assembly time is as a result of telescopic main poles that are attached to the inner tent, so when you unfold the tent, you extend the poles until you hear a click. Do that with all six poles, and you’ll have effectively raised the inners tent up because it’s attached to the pole system.
A two-room tent: This offers convenience, privacy and comfort for a family camping or in the case of a group with mixed gender members. It has a 14 x 9 floor space, with a separate screen room that has mesh panels and can be zipped to keep bugs out.
The Fly: The fly here is minimalistic in design, covering only the top ceiling. This is not unusual for such a design, but the tent comes with windows and great views of the surroundings, meaning the fly is not supposed to be on the way.
Waterproofness: The manufacturer is scanty with details, but they just mention CORE H20 Block Technology. Both the tent body and fly are 68D 190t polyester with an 800 mm waterproof rating. This does not look like much but is still enough, in addition to a e-cable port and you also have storage elements on the wall.

Who is it for?
The Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent is a 3-seaon tent, but it perfectly fits the bill for 2 seasons. This is because its ability to withstand harsh rains and winds isn’t very optimal, but for ordinary camping in mild weather, it gets the job done well.
As for the capacity, this tent can accommodate large families and large groups of people, alike. You can pack it as part of your summer family vacation equipment, or with your friends at some open-air festivals and related gatherings.
When packed, it measures 48 x 11 x 10.5 inches and weighs 35.15 pounds, meaning it will easily fit in a family car as you hit the road to the camping site. The floor size is huge (14 x 9 ft), so you can organize it the way you wish without space constraints.
At the end of the day, when going on vacation or camping, all you need is gear that’s easy to pack, versatile and reliable no matter the circumstances. That’s exactly what the Core 9 Person Instant Cabin Tent attempts to be, and it does succeed. The design is ingenious, the price is more than reasonable and you will love it for its Core versatility.
In fact, the entire Core series of Instant cabin Tent is built on that principle, with focus ease of setup (under 60 seconds), and versatility during use.
